As part of a continuing implantable medical device initiative, UMA Precision Machining has purchased three Citizen L20X Swiss machining centers to increase capacity and better serve its customer base. The addition of these machining centers advances the company’s mission of continually upgrading capabilities while reducing lead times on tight tolerance applications and building a more vertically integrated production process. One Citizen L20X was received in August, 2020, and another two were received in September, 2021.
The Citizen L20X is equipped with the powerful Meldas M70LPC-VU control for high-speed processing. Full servo axes and advanced technologies enable faster machining operations while reducing non-cutting idle time by 40% compared to previous models. With a maximum machining diameter of 20mm and 44 tool capacity, these machines offer the versatility we need: from basic to complex components and for small, medium and large lot sizes.
“We are excited about these additions to UMA Precision Machining’s already state-of-the-art manufacturing facility,” states Dan Heins, General Manager of UMA Precision Machining.
